The Physics of Motion: Kidical Mass & Active Transportation A series of community rides designed to move science education out of our classroom and onto the streets of Tacoma.

Scientific Focus: Teach physics; focusing on kinetic energy, momentum, center of gravity, and spatial awareness.

Families learn the mechanics of a pre-ride safety check of their bicycles, navigate Tacoma’s topography safely while understanding the physics of group commuting in mass within the city. Practical science experiential learning designed for all ages and abilities.

Tour De Donut Tacoma 2026
Join 2nd Cycle for our favorite sweet community tradition!
We're heading out on a ~20-mile group bicycle ride to hit four of Tacoma's best local donut shops. Bring your bike, your appetite, and your friends.

THE RIDE: ~20-mile casual group ride.
Everyone is welcome.
No one will be turned away.
Suggested Donation: $40 (No one turned away due to lack of funds!)
All proceeds directly support 2nd Cycle’s youth and community programming.
Anderson Island Ride

Locations: Starts and ends at the Steilacoom Ferry Terminal

Price: Participating in this ride is free, including registration, safety checks and ferry fare. Your only expenses may include parking and snacks/lunch you purchased prior to the ride.
Event Description:
Come ride the Steilacoom-Anderson Island Ferry and ride your bike around the island! This is a family-friendly, slow-paced ride, welcoming to riders of all ages and abilities. No one will be left behind.

Need to fix a flat? Adjust your brakes? Learn how to wrench on your own bike? Fix-It Fest is for you!
Join us every other Friday at 2nd Cycle for a drop-in open shop session where our workbenches, tools, and supportive community are here to help you keep your bike rolling. Whether you’re a total beginner or just need a space to finish a project, you’re welcome here.
