Levi supports the Program Coordinators through scheduling, communication, assistance with teaching programs and logistics. As a youth, Levi took the first youth program at 2nd Cycle and was inspired to learn everything about bikes. Now with years of experience in the bike industry, from a bike mechanic to leading youth rides, Levi is a passionate advocate for active transportation and getting more people on bikes. Helping provide the support and education to youth that he once had motivates him. Levi is committed to making cycling a more accessible and diverse community by empowering youth.

Bryce, our Shop Manager, Punk Rock Bike Magician, and resident green thumb! Since starting at 2nd Cycle, Bryce has been the driving force behind the wrench, expertly fixing bikes and promoting awesome shows in the Hilltop neighborhood. He’s the guy who can tune your derailleur, organize a killer local event, and still know when your dog needs a scratch. The whole community—including all the local pets—loves having Bryce around!

The mechanical heart of 2nd Cycle, known affectionately as our Resident Wizard. Parker has an unparalleled gift for repair, driven by the philosophy that no bike should be beyond saving. Parker is fueled by the mission of restoring and repairing bikes for the community, giving second lives to countless two-wheeled companions. Off the clock, they are equally dedicated to adventure, enjoying bike packing trips, trail running, and cherished time with their family.

Leon believes in 2nd Cycles mission of working to make cycling more accessible, equitable, and sustainable. Leon believes bikes are more than just transportation, they’re tools for connection, joy, and community change. At 2nd Cycle, he helps guide a passionate team that refurbishes donated bikes, teaches hands-on repair skills, and partners with schools, the City of Tacoma, and local advocates to grow safe and welcoming cycling opportunities. With a focus on collaboration and creativity, Leon is excited to keep building a culture where bikes are for everyone.

Lincoln Kroft is in charge of procurement for programs and is one of the main educators. With a lifelong passion for cycling and working on bikes, Lincoln is motivated to make cycling a more diverse space for everyone. From encouraging others to pick up a wrench and learn a new skill to helping anyone who wants to ride a bike get started you can find him covered in grease and sweat probably talking about a new bike he wants to buy or build.

A vital part of the 2nd Cycle team since the summer of 2023, Rashaud started in our Recycle Center, learning the ins and outs of processing donations and the full life cycle of every bike that passes through our doors. As he wraps up his senior year of high school, he is now working weekends in the Bike Shop, gaining valuable experience in the retail and customer service aspects of the center. Rashaud is also our resident powerhouse; we consistently count on his unique physical strength to complement the team—there's simply no bike he can't lift above his head! When not at the shop or hitting the books, Rashaud can be found at the gym, dedicated to building his mind and body.

Josiah has been involved with Second Cycle for more than half of his life. As a 5th grade student in the early days of the shop, he decided he needed to build a bike and figure out how it all worked, and then never really left the bike shop until he left for college many years later. When he's not busy trying to save every lost-cause bike he possibly can, Josiah is likely either to be playing cello or bass, or in the mountains skiing, climbing, or riding bikes. He is very happy to be back at Second Cycle helping provide accessible, sustainable transportation for everyone.

Greta is the newest member of our programs team and brings with her a passion for the outdoors, cycling, and sharing her knowledge with all generations. Greta is a recent transplant from Minneapolis Minnesota and a graduate from Colorado College with a BA in Environmental Science. Greta is most excited to be working hands on with our middle school and high school students and helping open the doors of cycling to all 2nd cycles communities and neighbors through her role on the programs team.

Our dedicated educator who has been teaching bikes for over nine years, tracing their roots back to Evergreen MBA. In their vital role at 2nd Cycle, they are the primary instructor in the Tacoma Public Schools, bringing hands-on bike skills and safety knowledge to kids from 3rd through 8th grade. Additionally, Dharma leads our powerful Diversion program, partnering with the courts to provide local youth with a structured path to fulfill their community service requirements. They are also one of the friendly leaders of the popular summertime Slow and Sweaty group rides. While Dharma might not be a master of the track stand, they are known for their exceptional bike handling and can wheelie circles around the rest of the team! Off the clock, they enjoy spending time with their dogs or out on a ride—often simultaneously.

John oversees organizational operations, youth and community programming, and long-term strategy. He directs financial management, contracts, and grants, ensuring that 2nd Cycle’s programs are sustainable and aligned with community needs. With a background in program direction and nonprofit administration, John has developed systems that enhance the effectiveness and accessibility of bicycle education and outreach. He has guided the development of youth programs, expanded school partnerships, and supported the growth of community cycling initiatives across Tacoma and Pierce County. John is committed to creating opportunities that empower young people, strengthen community connections, and make cycling a more inclusive and transformative experience.

Mark Ostler utilizes his financial skills and education to help keep our community bike shop pedaling forward. Mark also publishes 2nd Cycle's print zine and manages our online sales. During our bike riding events, Mark drives our support van and happily helps any rider who has a flat tire or other bump in the road.

Starting as a dedicated volunteer while still in high school, Confucius has truly grown up with 2nd Cycle. He rapidly absorbed the knowledge required to build and repair bikes, a passion that led him to his current role as a full-time Mechanic and Program Coordinator. Confucius is driven by a deep commitment to teaching and inspiring others to embrace cycling. More than just fixing bikes, he is a dedicated advocate for social and financial equality, working every day to ensure cycling is accessible to all people by lowering the financial and knowledge barriers to entry.
