bipoc community events and rides

2nd Cycle wants to provide those who identify with the BIPOC Community with social and educational events and promote representation in Tacoma and the great Puget Sound Region.

BIPOC Community Events include:
  • Swan Creek Mountain Bike group rides
  • Road group rides around Tacoma
  • Open Shop Nights in our Community Tool Space
  • Bicycles and helmets are provided at each event if you don't have one!
What is BIPOC? BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous, People of Color. This is not just free open shop time and group rides to BIPOC, but it also makes space to address and respond to inequities in the cycling community and society. This opportunity also gives space to reach black and brown people that self-identify as low-income through wrenching and cycling; allowing them to repair or build a bike without the barrier of repair costs.

We're also aiming to remove the barriers associated with the entry to mountain biking by offering guided group rides where participants have access to our fleet of our mountain bikes.

Email programs@2ndcycle.org to find out when our next BIPOC community group ride is happening.
