Volunteers Make the Wheels Turn at 2nd Cycle

From keeping our events running smoothly to making sure kids get to experience the joy of riding a bike for the first time, we truly couldn’t do this work without the incredible energy, dedication, and care of our volunteers. Whether you’ve helped check folks in at an event, set up cones on a community ride, or wrenched in the shop — thank you. Your time and support are what keep our mission alive and rolling forward.

Now, we’re kicking things up a gear!

We’re working on revamping our volunteer program to make it even more rewarding, flexible, and fun. That means easier ways to plug in, cooler perks, and more chances to be involved in the growing cycling community here in Tacoma.

And because we seriously appreciate the time, talent, and energy our volunteers bring, we’re excited to offer some sweet thank-you perks:

Where do we need your help? Looking to get involved? We’ve got lots of opportunities!

This summer and beyond, 2nd Cycle is bringing even more fun and impactful events to our community — and we need you to help make them shine. Volunteering with us can mean:

Helping with event setup/cleanup
Supporting at the check-in or registration tables
Assisting with bicycle checkout
Serving as a crossing guard or stop/yield sign holder
Being a friendly face who helps ensure fun and safe riding experiences for youth and adults across Pierce County

We’ve got some exciting rides, classes, and community events coming up this summer and fall – and we can’t do it without you. Whether you’ve got a few hours or a whole day to give, we’d love to have your support.
